Our Extraction Methods

At Apiary Innovations, our commitment to purity begins at the hive. Every step in our extraction process is designed to protect the health of our bees, preserve the integrity of the compounds we harvest, and deliver maximum potency to our customers.
Bee Venom Extraction
– Our bee venom is harvested using a non-lethal, non-invasive method that ensures the wellbeing of the bees.
– We use a gentle electric stimulation technique on a glass collection plate placed on top of the frames at the top of the hive. This method causes the bees to release a small amount of venom without losing their stinger or suffering harm. The venom dries on the glass and is then carefully scraped, filtered, and lab-certified to guarantee purity, potency, and consistent quality.
– Our process ensures that the venom retains its full complement of active peptides, enzymes, and therapeutic compounds.
Bee Pollen Collection
– Collected directly at the hive entrance using purpose-built pollen traps, our pollen is gently brushed from the bees’ hind legs as they enter the hive.
– The pollen is immediately air-dried at low temperatures to preserve its enzymes, amino acids, and nutritional content. Once dried, it’s carefully filtered to remove natural debris and packaged to maintain freshness and bioavailability.
– We never over-harvest — ensuring our bees retain enough pollen for their own nutrition and colony health.
Propolis Harvesting
– Propolis is the hive’s natural antimicrobial resin, used by bees to seal and sterilize their environment. We collect it using removable propolis traps, which encourage bees to deposit propolis into small crevices. Once filled, the traps are removed and the propolis is frozen and gently flexed to release the resin.
– After collection, it is cleaned and graded, then either packaged raw or processed into tinctures and extracts using food-grade alcohol for cosmetic and therapeutic use.
